      Surrounded by metal workers at the WH, yesterday, President Trump signed off on his plan to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, saying they would level the playing field for American companies and protect industries vital for our national security. Many are calling it a colossal mistake that could lose more American jobs than it creates. But it could also  be another YUGE success, because who'd bet against The Donald when it comes to our economy these days? Personally, I'm not sure what to think. I believe in free trade, and nobody wants a trade war. But international trade has been anything but free and that war has been raging for decades - and we've been getting our butts kicked. Is refusing to engage in the current unequal trade relations so crazy? If tariffs on unfair steel and aluminum competitors are a bad idea, how do we ensure U.S. manufacturers face exactly the same obstacles to entry into foreigners' markets as they face entering ours?
   One thing I do know is that keeping another campaign promise on behalf of American workers can only help going into the Mid Terms. Trump didn't run as a free trader. He called for "fair trade" and promised that he would put America's interests - not those of the corporate bigwigs who don't mind sacrificing our people on the altar of their balance sheets - before anything else. He ran against 16 others who failed to pick up the torch, and then against a drunken felon who actively hated the Normal Americans who build and feed and fuel this country. He beat them all. There's a message there - it's always a good idea to stick up for your voters. And Trump knows it.
    Sunday's Academy Awards was the lowest-rated show ever. I guess the idea of being hectored and scolded by out-of-touch Hollyweird elites just isn't the ratings bonanza they think it is. And "Best Picture" went to some absurdity about a mute woman who has sex with a fish creature, or something. Now who could resist that? Apparently everyone.  Sorry, Hollywood, we're just not that into you. We really don't care to listen to tiresome lectures from egotistical, self-important, morons. Just like the NFL learned, we're sick of divisive politics infecting every aspect of our lives. And that goes double for the sex-enabling, anti-gun hypocrites and their virtue-signaling nonsense at the Oscars.
   As the ProgTards line up behind a shield made of children to march on the 2nd Amendment, it's important to remember what happens when you compromise with people whose ultimate goal is your obliteration. Listen to Andrew Breitbart and Adam Corolla explain the lessons of the anti-smoking crusade to illustrate why we must never, ever acquiesce to their demands. There is no compromise with people who don't want you to exist, there is only incrementally losing ground until you're gone. Today it's bump stocks and AR-15s, tomorrow it'll be all guns. After that, who knows? A right diminished never returns. Government does not cede back power once seized. If people who support the 2A compromise with liberals whose ultimate goal is to strip everyone of their right to defend themselves, it won't be too long before they're out on the street in the rain with the smokers.    U.S. and South Korean officials announced last night that President Trump has accepted an invitation to meet with Nork dictator Lil Fat Kim in May. Trump  tweeted that Rocketman "talked about denuclearization, not just a freeze." Also, there would be no missile testing and "sanctions will remain until an agreement is reached." While talking is always better than shooting,
I'm with John Bolton on this one -  it's absurd to believe that N. Korea would abandon their nuclear aims after 25 years when they're so close to achieving them. The whole thing is undoubtedly just their usual rope-a-dope scam. Let's hope Trump is too smart to fall for it.
   Finally, in case you missed it, on his new FNC show last Sunday, Mark Levin interviewed House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes on the overall FISA Court abuse and political investigations by the DOJ and FBI. It's must watch TV.
